5 Proven Techniques To Help You Detoxify Your Body

Today's world is full of ways to get toxins into your body. The trick is to find ways to eliminate those toxins at the same rate or faster than they are introduced. Finding a body cleansing detoxification method that does more help than harm is important.

We are constantly bombarded with chemicals in the foods we eat, liquids we drink and even the air we breathe. Bentonite, Benzene, Benzoic Acid, BHA, BHT, Bronopol and Butylparaben may not be common terms in our vocabulary but they are relatively common toxic substances found in cosmetics, foods and cleansers. This is bad enough but there are 25 more letters in the alphabet.

Luckily our bodies are pretty good at eliminating the harmful chemicals that get added to our systems daily. Most are filtered out in the excretory system through the filtering work done by the kidneys, the liver and sweating. Problems arise when this system of natural detoxification gets overwhelmed by the increasing rate of exposure to toxins. Common problems include digestive and respiratory ailments along with other serious health problems.

Fortunately we can help our natural systems keep up with toxic overload by using: 1-A change in our diets 2-A system of Herbal body wraps 3-Eating special Herbal supplements 4-An established Cleansing plans 5-Regular use of a Sauna

1-Often people will change their diets either temporarily or for extended periods of time in an attempt to cleanse their systems. Many of the toxins we accumulate come from the food we eat. Processed foods are famous for their toxic content but even more natural foods like fruits and vegetables contain pesticides, herbicides and artificial hormones among other things.

Most of these detox diets are made up of fasting, drinking loads of clear fluids like water and eating mainly vegetables. Your system will get flushed out on a diet like this but they should be used for only limited time periods. Many of the necessary minerals, vitamins and nutrients for a healthy diet are missing with a detox diet and need to be replaced.

2-Clay, salts, water and other ingredients are often used to produce what is known as a body wrap designed for detoxification. Toxins are stored within the cells of the body. The idea is that the salts in a body wrap tend to draw water from the skin and in the process draw out dissolved poisons.

This generally involves lying in a room covered with this mixture for up to an hour or more. There is an easier way that I will discuss later on. It is important to drink plenty of fluids afterwards to replace the water that has been flushed from your body.

3-Taking pills to supply your body with herbal supplements is another common detoxifying technique. Upping the level of specific vitamins, antioxidants and minerals can benefit the way your body works. More efficient toxin removal through excretion can be a result. Altering the basic chemistry of your body can become a fairly tricky business. Having a thorough understanding of the complete process is important before you start down the path of using herbal supplements to cleanse your body. Consulting your doctor is always a good idea before starting a detoxification program but is especially important when choosing to detox with supplements. Internet research is helpful but no substitute for a doctors advise.

4-There are many spas that offer an established program designed to cleanse your body tissue of toxins. They vary greatly but many are a variation of a daily schedule including enemas, liquid supplements and cleansing drinks. The sequence is repeated throughout the day for a period of a week or more. This certainly takes a commitment and dedication on your part since it is usually "a live" in situation. Many but not all of these spas are reputable so some due diligence on your part is required to find an affordable situation that is right for you.

5-My favorite and arguably the easiest (my kind of plan) is the use of a sauna for detoxification. The main way toxins are eliminated is through the excretory system. Elimination of solids and liquid urine are the paths that come to mind immediately. The truth is, however, that the process of sweating also eliminates surprisingly large quantities of fluids. Excessive sweating, as in a sauna, dramatically increases the rate that toxins are included with the sweat. This happens because many of the toxins are found within the cellular fluid.

The fluids for typical sweating (mostly water) come from the liquids that surround the cells not the fluids within the cells. As the non-cellular fluids are eliminated it becomes necessary for the inner-cellular fluids to be removed and this is where the dissolves toxins are most concentrated. They are removed at the same time.

All of the above mentioned detoxification methods work to varying degrees and bring with them advantages and disadvantages. The most effective method is the one that is actually put into use. This is similar to exercise programs in that most can be effective if used but none can be effective in not followed over a significant period of time. Routine sauna use, unlike the other methods, becomes more enjoyable over time and a treat to look forward to instead of just a necessary evil. Fortunately it has become much more practical and affordable to have a sauna of your own. Home saunas are readily available online and surprisingly easy to set up. Complete units can even be delivered right to your doorstep.
